Emerging From COVID

General Philosophy of Returning to Campus

PTS is committed to the health and safety of our congregants, visitors and staff. We are actively opening for more and more activities, always in line with guidelines from the CDC and the State of California paired with the needs of our particular community and based on our PTS values.

Inclusivity | Human Connection | Caring & Kindness | Commitment to Community | Embracing Change

We are delighted to return to our beautiful campus. The offices are now fully staffed during regular business hours. Shabbat and other worship services are taking place in person and also on Zoom, so that individuals can choose how to participate. Meetings, social events, and learning programs are returning to campus according to the desires of those participants. Youth education and programs for the fall will take place in person and Preschool, which has remained open throughout the pandemic, will continue in person.

We are looking forward to seeing you on campus!

Entry Requirements
Everyone who is healthy is welcome to come to PTS during regular business hours or for worship and programming.

Face Coverings
Face coverings are required by unvaccinated individuals at all times on campus.
Face coverings are required for all congregants and visitors in all indoor gatherings.
Face coverings may be removed by vaccinated individuals when they are outdoors.

Capacity & Distance Limitations
At present, there are no COVID-related capacity or distance limitations for events and programs. Of course, fire safety limitations still apply.

Evolving Protocols
With the rise of the Delta variant, these PTS guidelines may change. We are currently discussing if/when to require vaccinations at PTS.

Respecting Differences
Some congregants and visitors are comfortable shaking hands or hugging. Others are not. We ask you to be mindful of the diverse needs of our PTS community.

Virtual Programming
We want to give you a choice! Shabbat worship, adult learning, and many other PTS programs will take place both in person and virtually. See our PTS calendar for upcoming programs and a list of Zoom links here.

Vaccination Policy for Shabbat and Programming Post HHD

Vaccination Policy for Private Events Post HHD

What You Can Expect from PTS TO Keep the Campus Safe

Upgraded Ventilation System
We have upgraded the air filtration system throughout the facility. In addition, weather permitting, program participants are encouraged to keep internal doors and windows open to improve air flow. These protocols are subject to change in the event that the Air Quality Index rises above 100.

New Safety Standards
We have implemented many of the same safety precautions that you see elsewhere: touchless hand sanitizers, disposable masks, and plexiglass dividers. We commit to you that we will stay current with best practices.

Vaccinations
We have a mandatory vaccination policy for our staff. We strongly encourage our entire PTS community to become vaccinated too. Visit myturn.ca.gov for more information.

Continued Focus on Security
During the past year, we made a number of security improvements to our site, some which are invisible. Visible improvements include new fencing, lighting, and cameras. We ask that you remain observant when you are on campus, and that if you see something, say something.

How can you support PTS?

Your time and your financial support matter. To join our Caring Community of volunteers, who reach out to one another with calls, cards, and meals, please contact Rabbi Lisa Delson or Bev Rochelle.

Until our schools return to their normal size, PTS will be operating at a deficit. Fortunately, congregant generosity and two PPP loans have sustained the community thus far. Going forward, your support will make all the difference. If you are able to make a donation to help PTS through this post-COVID transition year, please consider giving to the COVID-19 Recovery Fund.

Our Clergy Are Here For You

Our rabbis and cantor are available to assist with care for your family. Please call the temple office at 650-697-2266 to reach the Clergy Assistant or, after hours, to reach the clergy on call.
